Issue
When you’re installing a SMART software product on the Windows XP SP2 operating system, a dialog box appears informing you the installation was interrupted.
Solution
Log on with full administrator rights, delete any temporary SMART installation files, delete any SMART software folders in the Registry Editor, and then install the software again.
Warning
Take care when you modify the Windows registry. If you modify it incorrectly, you could cause serious problems to the Windows operating system. Back up any registry keys to a .reg file before you change them.
To install the software

Restart the computer, and log on as a user with administrator rights.

Delete the folders and files in these directories:

C:\windows\temp
-
C:\temp
-
C:\Documents and Settings\USER NAME\Local Settings\Temp
Note
USER NAME in the above path is the user name of the person who had trouble installing the software.

Select Start > Run.

Type regedit, and then press ENTER.
The Registry Editor appears.

Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SMART Technologies or SMART Technologies Inc., delete any folders that correspond to the SMART software you’re trying to install.

Install the software again.
