Issue
This article describes how to perform an 80-point orientation with SMART Board software 8.1.3.10 for Mac operating system software.
Solution
To perform an 80-point orientation
-
Click the Finder icon in the Dock.
The Finder window opens.
-
Click the Home icon.
-
Choose Library > Preferences, and double-click com.smarttech.SMARTBoard.Service.plist.
The Property List Editor opens.
Note
If you are first asked to select a program, choose TextEdit.
-
Scroll down the list to the Advanced Settings n heading (where n is the SMART product identification number), and locate the OrientPrecision listing.
Note
The Advanced Settings section only appears if a SMART product has been connected to your computer. If you’ve connected two SMART products, there will be two Advanced Settings headings, and so on.
-
Change the OrientPrecision to 5.
The default orientation setting is now set to 80 points.
-
Save your changes and close the Property List Editor.
-
Click the SMART Board icon in the Dock, and choose Open Orient.
The orientation screen appears.
-
Follow the on-screen instructions to perform the 80 point orientation.
Note
The Advanced Settings window in the SMART Board Control Panel will still list 4, 9 and 20 points as the available orientation levels. If you select one of these values, you will automatically reset the default level and you will have to perform these instructions again to perform another 80 point orientation.
