Removing SMART Board Software and Remaining Files from Mac Operating System Software

Overview

This document describes how to remove SMART Board software and any remaining SMART Board software files from your Mac OS X operating system software.

Details

Remove SMART Board software and SMART Notebook software, and then remove any remaining SMART software files.

To remove SMART Board software or SMART Notebook software

1. Select Finder > Macintosh HD > Applications.

2. Scroll down the list of applications to locate the following folders. For each folder, double-click the uninstall application (if it exists), and then follow the on-screen instructions to remove the contents of the folder.

   Note 

   If an uninstall application doesn’t exist, drag the folder to the Trash.

To temporarily remove SMART Ideas software

1. Select Finder > Macintosh HD > Applications > SMART Ideas ×, where × is the version of SMART Ideas software installed on your computer.

   The SMART Ideas window appears.

2. Select Help > About SMART Ideas.

   The About SMART Ideas window appears.

3. Record the serial number of your SMART Ideas software, which is under the version number.

4. Select OK to close the About SMART Ideas window.

5. Select Finder > Macintosh HD > Applications > SMART Ideas ×, select the uninstall application, and follow the on-screen instructions.

To remove any remaining SMART software files

1. Select Finder > Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support, locate the SMART Technologies Inc. folder, and then drag it to the Trash.

2. Select Finder > Macintosh HD > Library > Receipts, locate all files beginning with Notebook, and drag them to the Trash. Next, locate all files beginning with SMART, and then drag them to the Trash.

3. Select Finder > Home > Library > Applications Support, locate the SMART Technologies Inc. folder, and then drag it to the Trash.

4. Select Finder > Home > Library > Preferences, locate all files beginning with com.smarttech, and then drag them to the Trash.

5. Restart your computer.

To confirm that you removed all remaining SMART software files

1. Go to www.smarttech.com/downloads and locate the latest complete installation of SMART Notebook 10 software.

2. Click the Download button and follow the on-screen instructions to download SMART Notebook 10 software.

3. If Upgrade appears in the Installation Type dialog box, files from previously installed SMART Board software remain on your computer. Cancel the installation, and then follow the previous procedures to remove any remaining files.

   OR

   If Install appears in the Installation Type dialog box, you removed all SMART Notebook software files. Cancel the installation.
