Issue
You’re unable to turn on and use the teacher microphone.
Symptoms
When you set the teacher microphone’s power switch to ON, the power indicator light doesn’t turn on and you’re unable to use the teacher microphone. Replacing or recharging the rechargeable batteries doesn’t solve the issue.
Cause
The contact spring for the positive battery terminal (+) is out of place and isn’t making contact with the battery terminal.
Solution
Repair the positive battery terminal.
To repair the positive battery terminal
-
Remove the battery compartment cover from the teacher microphone, and then remove the batteries.
-
Using tweezers or fine needle-nose pliers, lengthen the positive battery terminal by gently pulling on its central bar.
Caution
Do not pull the positive battery terminal spring past the inner edge of the compartment’s plastic shell. If you pull the spring too far, it may break or make it difficult to reinsert the battery.
-
Repeat step 2 for the other positive battery terminal if necessary.
-
Insert the rechargeable batteries that came with your product, and then reattach the battery compartment cover.
Note
You may have to recharge the batteries before you can use the microphone.
If the previous steps do not solve the issue, contact your SMART reseller (www.smarttech.com/where).
