Important
This article is intended for IT administrators and others experienced with customizing, deploying and administering Windows software in a networked environment.
Issue
When you use SMART Install Manager to configure the Education Software Installer 2011 and Education Software Installer 2012 to include all language pack options, or when you use the administrator’s command line with installation properties set to push out all the supported languages packs, the software installation fails but doesn’t display any warning or error messages. No software is installed and the installation log, if enabled, doesn’t identify the issue.
Cause
Based on the language options that you select when using SMART Install Manager or have included on the command line, the installation package generates its own internal command line. When too many language options are selected, the internal command line exceeds the maximum character limit and the installation fails.
Solution
If your Education Software Installer 2011 or Education Software Installer 2012 deployment fails with 18 or more language packs selected, try the same configuration again but with fewer language packs. If the installation continues to fail, contact SMART Technical Support with details of which software you’re trying to install and supply an installation log if possible.
